An interdisciplinary designer working at the intersection of systems, futures, participation, and sustainability, exploring new ways of seeing, making, learning, and connecting.
A strong connection to nature shaped my childhood in Suva, Fiji. Weekly boat trips to the reef for snorkeling gave me a deep bond with the sea, and it was there that I also saw the harmful effects of climate change and pollution. When I moved to Rio de Janeiro at thirteen, I was introduced to many new customs and ways of life.
Growing up between cultures and adapting to constant change has had a tremendous impact on me. It changed how I see the world and the people in it. A constant has been my interest in finding what different cultures share, and my fascination with innovation.
Innovation and empathy drive my work. I use my intercultural experience to create better solutions for a broad audience, and I believe that bridging different knowledge systems can help create a more sustainable future.
